Foton catalog overview.

Eavesdropper and Foton go back a long way. There exists a shared history of intruiging collaborations, close friendships and an ever-present mutual respect. This has finally resulted in an Eavesdropper release on Foton.

The Behavioral Science EP contains four tracks, each one crafted with a deep love for and knowledge of the language of sound. Eavesdropper's electronic sound sculptures are infused with a large dose of analogue sensations. In every track a story unfolds, slowly guiding you into a parallel world.

Interstice takes the listener intro travelling mode, smoothly gliding over a transparent city at night. Somehow it evokes a strange sense of belonging to a wide-open world. A startling electronic composition is met with an analogue feeling, such as the processed guitar sounds, quietly interacting with minimal, percussive events.

Locked-in presents a brooding vibe. Nondescript entities are waiting for each other to establish communication, so as to break the claustrophobic spell. This feeling of uncertainty is taken one step further in Susurration, an altogether darker affair. Here, synthesized sounds take on the role of mutant voices, telling us a moody, nocturnal story.

The EP closes with Circadian, an excursion into percussive territory. Dynamic tension is taken up one notch, with the fragmented drums conveying a malfunctioning personality. The track is driven to a intense climax, upon which it quickly dissolves. The feeling created brings us back to the starting position of Interstice. It hints at another listening session to understand the messages encoded in Eavesdropper's beautifully strange compositions.

The visuals for the Behavioral Science EP are excerpts from the live performance by Eavesdropper and Visual Kitchen during the Altitude 1000 festival, December 2006.
