RM - 1025 [foton 04]

RM is the cooperation between Jeroen Baekelandt and Peter Van Hoesen (aka Object), two friends who have been collaborating for many years. Both having an extensive background in the field of electronic music, they produce a dense yet minimal sound, using the city as major theme of inspiration. The duo uses various techniques to paint a sound canvas that's at the same time alienating and organic. '1025' presents the listener with heavy-mental electronics, taking the Foton sound one step further into auditory exploration.

The title '1025' refers to the imaginary parallel version of Brussels both musicians seek to evoke. Every track suggest a place, time or action within this multi-faced electronic cityscape. Breathing, twisting in and out of phase, RM's music guides the listener into complex sound territory. Throughout the album, the five 'Reverse engineering' tracks serve as a guiding line, taking your perception further into the labyrinth that is '1025'. The album bears the Foton sound mark: minimal yet complex, warm and distant - an continuous exercise between two extremes. '1025' was mastered by Metarc studios.

This CD is limited to 500 numbered copies. It comes in a slim transparent case, fitted in a cardboard wrapping. Included with the CD is a color reproduction of a photograph made by Ela Stasiuk ('The 187's garden)', as well as a slide designed by Submedia, called 'Grid'. To view the slide you need an appropriate projector.
